ABOUT
The McGill Students’ Chapter of the Canadian Liver Foundation was founded by a group of students passionate about the importance of healthy living and medical research. The team comes together to promote about liver health and fundraise for liver research and liver diseased patients. We aim to unite students to work together towards a common goal: the elimination of liver disease rates per year through creative annual campaigns.
Through teaching students how to make healthy sushi at the Keep Calm and Make Sushi campaign, we taught them about nutrition and food choice. Besides that, we also invited professionals from the medical field to our March Healthcare Symposium to speak about acute diseases that we should be aware of. Students not only enriched their knowledge about current diseases, many also learned more about the field they desired to enter such as medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry. We also collaborated with other McGill groups to reach out to the public. An example includes the Be Brave Campaign in which we cooperated with Volunteer with a Smile to deliver greeting cards to the patients at the Montreal General Hospital to wish them quick recovery and a great year. In addition, we worked with Yoga Vidalia to offer a yoga class to McGill students to educate them about leading a healthy lifestyle.
We look forward to providing more conferences and campaigns to the public so that our future generations become stronger and healthier individuals.
